Rheostat are used as series resistors or potentiometer. Open type slide wire a variety of resistance & current carrying capacity. Constantine wire is used as resistance. Contact provided on metal chrome plated slider-rod to give rapid & smooth adjustment. Three 4mm standard terminals are provided. One at each end of the wire & the third at one end of the slider-rod thus Rheostat can be used as potentiometer also. Resistance in ohms & current carrying capacities are marked on it. The support are made of bakelite.
